MentoraJo is an edtech platform connecting mentors and students through courses and video lessons, built for learners in both Arabic and English. We're a small, fast-moving team building a modern multi-app product, and we're looking for a Backend Developer Intern to help build the systems that power our platform. You'll work on real backend features, APIs, and services that support real students and mentors. - Help build and maintain backend services and APIs.
- Develop and improve RESTful APIs used by our web applications.
- Work with databases and backend infrastructure.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, and mentors to deliver complete features.
- Debug issues, optimize performance, and improve reliability.
- Participate in code reviews and learn professional backend development practices.
المتطلبات
- Currently pursuing — or recently completed — a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or self-taught with projects to show).
- Basic understanding of programming fundamentals and backend development concepts.
- Experience with at least one backend technology: Node.js, NestJS, or Express.js.
- Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL).
- Basic understanding of REST APIs.
- Familiarity with Git for version control.
- Knowledge of using AI coding agents such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or ChatGPT.
- Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and work as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in both Arabic and English.

- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization concepts (JWT, OAuth).
- Understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
- Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerization.
- Experience working with background jobs, queues, or caching systems.
- Understanding of API documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI.
- GitHub profile, personal projects, or open-source contributions.
- Interest in edtech and building products that help people learn.
